Answers to FAQs

When should a child first visit the dentist?

When a child is about a year old, a visit to the dentist is a good idea. This early childhood outing will help your baby become familiar with the sights, sounds, and helpful people at our office. By age three, children should receive six-month cleanings and checkups.

What does Dr. Pearson do to help children overcome anxiety about dental care?

Our friendly staff and fun-loving nature make most kids feel right at home. We also offer television, movies, and games to take children’s minds off of dental care. Dr. Pearson and Dr. Hake offer three levels of sedation – nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, and IV sedation.

How is a pediatric dentist different from a general family dentist?

A pediatric dentist is a general dentist with advanced studies in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Pearson is one of only 38% of pediatric dentists board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentists.

Can children be sedated at the dentist’s office?

Yes. Share your concerns with Dr. Pearson and Dr. Hake, and they will help you decide on the best form of sedation for your child. Our Doctors also have experience working with special needs patients, and we welcome these cases in our office.

Does Dr. Pearson accept dental insurance and Medicaid?

Yes. We will gladly file your insurance or Medicaid claim as a courtesy. Read about our financial and insurance policies.
