Dental Treatment for Children & Teens ~ Paris, TX Dentist

dental treatment for small children & teens

Toddlers & Preschoolers

By the age of one, your child should visit Dr. Pearson and Dr. Hake to become familiar with our office. At this first appointment, the doctors will talk with you and get to know your child. If you’ve noticed any developmental problems with your child’s teeth or jaw, please let Dr. Pearson and Dr. Hake know. They’ll take a quick look inside your child’s mouth and advise you on how to keep baby teeth strong and healthy. Your questions are welcome!

Usually, children around the age of three are willing to sit in the dental chair for a cleaning and fluoride treatment. Our team will pay special attention to your child so that he or she feels welcome, comfortable, confident, and special. We’ll also explain to you how to properly care for your child’s teeth by teaching good brushing and flossing habits at home. Checkups and cleanings should be scheduled every six months.

Elementary-School Children

Creating good habits can be difficult for active kids. However, regular brushing, flossing, and professional dental visits are essential to oral and overall health. Our team will give you and your child the training, tools, and encouragement necessary to take good care of young teeth and gums. Young athletes should protect their teeth with a mouthguard, so Dr. Pearson and Dr. Hake create custom mouthguards to fit comfortably and securely. Many children suffer from teeth grinding, which a custom nightguard can eliminate. If we notice developmental concerns, the doctors may recommend orthodontics or specialty care. Early intervention will prevent more extensive problems in the future.

We offer general dentistry services, like fillings, crowns, bridgework, and implants, as well. At Paris Children’s Dentistry, you can choose from nitrous oxide (laughing gas), oral sedation, or IV sedation to keep your child comfortable physically and mentally during procedures.

Pre-Teens & Teenagers

Older children are usually more concerned with their appearance, but they may still need encouragement to continually keep up with good daily oral hygiene practices. Dr. Pearson and Dr. Hake offer age-appropriate, natural-looking restorative dentistry, like white fillings and crowns. Our full range of dental services will provide your mature child with the comprehensive preventive, restorative, and orthodontic services he or she needs for optimal oral health now and in the future.

We truly look forward to participating in the lives of each other, our patients, and their families. We want to make a difference to love much and laugh often.

Emergency Dental Care

Our dental team understands the very nature of an emergency is its inconvenience. As your child's pediatric specialists, we are here for you during these stressful times. If your child knocks a tooth out or damages a tooth, please call or come by our office for immediate care. For after-hours emergencies, you can call our main line and listen for instructions. In most cases, we can arrange a meeting at our Wylie office for prompt treatment. If you child sustains a head injury, loses consciousness, or bleeds excessively, please visit the nearest emergency room.
